We are an experienced custom home builder who builds approximately 10 to 15 homes per year. This year accounts for our 16th year in business.
What does "custom home builder" mean, exactly? To us it means that whether you want to build a 900 square foot ranch home or a 6,000 square foot two-story home, we will build your home to your individual specifications, our standard specifications, or a combination of both. We rarely build the same home twice. Sometimes we might build a home that resembles one we built before but is has changes to reflect the different wants or needs of those individuals.
Does "custom home builder" mean your home will be very expensive compared to a home builder with standard plans that doesn't like to make changes? In some cases it will cost the same, could be a little more or less. The price depends on the types of changes that individuals want and/or need.
Over the years we have found that by having our own employees to do the majority of the work as well as using the same good quality subcontractors to perform the remainder of the work, we have much better control of the home construction process. Skills performed by our employees usually include Site Preparation, Framing, Concrete Work, Roofing, Siding, Trim Work and Final Cleaning prior to handing the completed home over to the homeowner. We believe it takes a winning team to build a home and that is exactly what we are at Dave Himmelberger Construction, Inc.
